China will provide 1 million U.S. dollars to help Suriname cope with the Zika virus, the Ministry of Commerce said on Thursday.

The Zika epidemic in Suriname broke out at the end of last year. China's humanitarian aid will help the South American country with medical supplies and funding, according to the ministry.
