E-mail China.org.cn, April 25, 2016Hengqin Port in southern China's Zhuhai city officially launched a new health quarantine mode for entry-exit passengers on April 15, 2016. Under normal circumstances, the body temperature of departing passengers will no longer be monitored.
To facilitate a quick and easy clearance in Hengqin Port and to provide better services for travelers from the Chinese mainland and Macao, the Zhuhai Hengqin Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau has further tried the innovate its inspection and quarantine methods. Under the model and at normal times, a principle of strict monitoring for incoming travelers and loose monitoring for departing ones will be followed.
Incoming passengers will be given strict inspection and quarantine. On the contrary, the bureau will mainly offer health advice to departing passengers. Body temperature monitoring will be cancelled for departing passengers, but the facilities and equipment won't be removed. When a public health emergency occurs, strict inspection and quarantine measures including temperature monitoring will be initiated again.
The reform is another important step for the inspection and quarantine mechanism innovation of the Zhuhai Hengqin Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau. This has promoted rapid clearance and advanced administrative efficiency. Meanwhile, it will improve the bureau's ability to deal with international public health emergencies in a number of ways.
