The Seventh World Circus Day was started in Hengqin, southern China's Zhuhai city, announced Urs Pilz, chairman of the Federation of the World Circus, and representatives from Chimelong Group on April 16, 2016. It's the first time for China to become the venue for launching the annual event since it was established in 2010.

Leaders from a number of famous national media groups and well-known Internet-signed we-media also attended the launching ceremony. Urs Pilz, as the last guest to appear on the red carpet, made a speech during the ceremony, showing his confidence in the Chimelong International Circus.

After the launching ceremony, Urs Pilz and the other guests enjoyed the new circus themed Wonderland which was launched early this January. It is reported that the play has attracted nearly 250,000 people to Hengqin over a period of two months.

"The Chimelong International Circus has brought great joy to audiences in the past 16 years. It has made outstanding contributions to the world's circus development," noted Urs Pilz in an interview.

"In addition, the Chimelong Group has successfully held two sessions of China International Circus Festivals. It has the ability to become the home court for the seventh World Circus Day."
