A young woman was surprised to see her mother in a 16-year-old photo from her husband's archive, a time before the couple had ever met.

The couple wed on May 29 in Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province. One week before their wedding, the two were looking through old photos. When the fiancé, 30, took out a 16-year-old photo, the fiancée, 25, screamed: "The woman behind you in that photo, wasn't she my mom?!"

It turned out in 2000 the two families had gone to the same scenic spot. When the young man was posing for photos, the woman's mom was doing the same. The two families both had photos of the same place in their albums as well as the tickets to the scenic spot on the same day.

"I have waited 16 years for you," the fiancé said to the fiancée as he hugged her.

"It's so incredible. I would have said it was fiction if I hadn't seen these two photos. It was real. Now I really believe in destiny. Everything is decided by fate," he told local newspaper Hangzhou Urban Express.
