A 27-year-old male worker at a McDonald's outlet in southeast China's Fujian Province has been sacked and put under police detention for sexually abusing a 6-year-old girl, Fujian Radio reported today.

The incident happened inside a women's toilet at the fast-food chain's outlet in Sanming City on May 31. The girl's mother said the worker entered the woman's toilet, kissed the girl and licked her face at around 8:30pm. The girl was using the toilet alone while her mother was dining outside.

The girl said that the worker got into the toilet on the pretext of collecting the garbage bag. But after taking the garbage out he returned and hugged the girl, kissed her on the lips and face. He fled after the girl scratched his face.

The girl told her mother of the incident immediately. They then reported it to the management. Police were called immediately.

Police caught the man, surnamed Yan, who admitted his crime. He has been sent to 10 days detention.
