The author of Megatrends, 87-year-old economist and futurist, John Naisbitt, and his wife, Doris, attended the 2016 China Reform Hengqin Forum held by Caixin Media on Sept. 12. They gave the keynote speech about global macro reform trends, China's opening up and its "one belt, one road" initiative.

According to John Naisbitt, the world's view of China is changing, China will play a major role in the world and change the rules of the game, reconstructing the economic order in the future.

In addition, Doris Naisbitt pointed out that China's self-perception and self- confidence have changed in the past few decades. "China now does not need to be loved and supported by any country, but to be respected," she said.
