Zhuhai's rising needs talent

In 1992, Zhuhai took the lead in China by initiating the awards for technical achievements, a great stimulation for technical innovation and commercialization of technological achievements, which attracted many talents to settle down in the city.

Nowadays, Zhuhai still counts on talent, according to Nanfang Daily.

In the modern world, regional competition is ultimately a competition of talents. Zhuhai, aiming to build itself into an open and innovative city, attaches great importance to industries, transportation and city management, with innovation as its core strategy. To achieve this goal, Zhuhai needs to take extraordinary measures to attract talent to the city.

Preferential policies have been issued in U.S., Canada and the EU to attract high-end talent. Similar phenomenon can be seen in China, too.

Zhuhai has a tradition of attaching great importance to talent. However, in order to build its talent pool, Zhuhai needs to further develop its cultural environment and enhance its competitiveness.

Days ago, Zhuhai amended the management method of the entrepreneurship fund for overseas returnees. Returnees can now get a subsidy of one million yuan (about US$ 145,131) if they start a business. Previously the subsidy was only 150,000 yuan.

In fact, Zhuhai is still in need of high-end talent and has weak advantage in terms of preferential policies on talent recruitment.

Experts suggest that Zhuhai provide better services to talented people with a chain of relevant policies and improve corresponding infrastructure, including education, health, culture and housing to provide a better environment.
