Ten suspects have been arrested after a residential building explosion killed five people and injured 25 others in north China Saturday, police said Tuesday.

However, one suspect remains at large, according to the Municipal Public Security Bureau of Tumd Right Banner in Baotou city of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

The explosion was allegedly caused by illegal storage of explosives, according to the police.

Saturday's explosion occurred in one building, but the blast was so powerful that five out of the 14 buildings at Xiangyang residential community of Tumd Right Banner were affected. Eighty seven homes were damaged, police said earlier.
