The founding ceremony of the People's Republic of China.

On October 1, 1949, the Central People's Government Committee of the People's Republic of China (PRC) held its first meeting, and the chairman, vice-chairmen and committee members of the Central People's Government took office. At 3 p.m., a rally of 300,000 army personnel and civilian participants gathered at Tiananmen Square to celebrate the birth of New China. Chairman Mao Zedong pushed the flagpole button to raise the first Five-Star Red Flag. He read out the Announcement of the Central People's Government of the PRC, and solemnly proclaimed to the world: "The Central People’s Government of the People's Republic of China is established!"
