Abstract

Dreams are the future prospects a person pictures in the mind, and also the driving forces to change the current situations.

Dreams are not illusions. They are idealized but at the same time rational. A group of people may have a common dream, so may a generation or a couple of generations. Dreams are the inexhaustible driving forces to improve the living conditions of mankind and to build a better future. They are also the goals that are worthwhile to work on despite difficulties. When the dream of the minorities becomes the dream of the majorities, a nation or a state, and the common dream that is deeply rooted in the hearts of the Chinese people, it will become a strong cohesive force and the creative power that embodies the spirit of our era.

More than 100 years ago, the brave Chinese revolutionaries rose to fight against the foreign aggression and the rotten ruling class, motived by the dream of national revival and bringing welfare to the people. For over 100 years, the leading pioneers have been fighting with perseverance and at personal sacrifices to make the dream come true, and have made the dream the common aspirations of the Chinese people. Without the dream and hard work, China will never enjoy the high growth rate, the increasing international standing and the improvement of people's well-being. China's outstanding success is the best consolation to millions of pioneers that have sacrificed for China's liberation cause, and to more Chinese people that have been dedicated to China's development. The success makes every dedicated man happy and proud.

Our generation is lucky because our ancestors have left us a dependent country and a socialist path that is suitable for China's national conditions. What is more, we have witnessed and benefited from China's reform and rapid development, and have lifted the nation out of poverty. To build a better China, all the Chinese people are making their own contributions. Some are committing themselves to rural development, some are working day and night to upgrade an industry, or just for a technological innovation. Some are seeking after better policies and political systems, or better cities and villages, or better culture and education. No matter what we do, we are doing our best to build a better future for the Chinese people, and for the peaceful development, prosperity and welfare of the Chinese nation. This is the road toward the Chinese dream.
