Abstract

I. When the American Dream meets the Chinese Dream

The Chinese Dream is not simply a substitute for the American Dream, a dream that carried the hopes of the Western European immigrants three hundred years ago, but an upgrade from the perspective of the contemporary world.

II. The Chinese Dream is the newest fruit on the tree of human wisdom

1. The Chinese Dream has learned the lesson from the Japanese Dream that included invading other countries after the 1870s.

2. The Chinese Dream has avoided the trap of chauvinism that permeated the Soviet Union's Dream in the 1940s.

3. The Chinese Dream should wipe out the corrupt aspects of the European Dream and American Dream.

III. The world is receiving the dividends of the Chinese Dream

1. Economic contributions

Through these many years when China merged into the world economy with an open attitude and the confidence of a major power, it has always been engaged in establishing a fair and just international economic order with practical implications.

2. Political contributions

Democracy is a diverse mode of government, and there are various ways to achieve it. China's political reform model that China is experiencing is the greatest contribution the Chinese Dream has made to the world.

3. Contributions to peace

"If you look at Chinese history, it has never colonized other countries, and there is no tradition in China's foreign policy of taking other people's territory…." What the former German chancellor Helmut Schmidt said is concrete proof of the Chinese Dream's contributions to peace.

IV. Is it possible for foreigners in China to realize their Chinese Dream?

China will probably become the new "land of opportunity", providing chances for all foreigners who come to China to achieve their dreams. It calls for the effort of the whole of Chinese society to improve and develop the country for everyone.

V. Learn to accept public opinions on the Chinese Dream

Public opinions are an indispensable impetus in China's rising process. We should introduce reforms to the expression of public opinions, with innovative ideas, institutional reformations, and technological changes.
