Following are some quotes on promoting relations between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan based on the 1992 Consensus from Zheng Jianbang, a political advisor and vice chairman of the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang, at the annual session of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee on Sunday:

-- "Taiwan Independence" has no way out, as adherence to 1992 Consensus is a general course of development of the cross-Strait relations. -- Enduring peace and prosperity across the Strait can be achieved only by promoting peaceful development across the Strait based on the 1992 Consensus.

-- The two sides of the Taiwan Strait should cease hostility and build military security and mutual trust mechanism, which is an important guarantee for enduring cross-Strait peace.

-- Cross-Strait economic and trade cooperation should be deepened.

-- The two sides should join hands in promoting the Chinese culture.

-- The "Taiwan Independence" secessionist forces should make a clear judgement on the current situation by taking themselves and Taiwan's future into account, and recognizing the public's opinions, in a bid to make a wise political choice.
