The first session of the 12th National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, held its closing meeting at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

China's top legislature concludes annual session

China's newly-elected president Xi Jinping addresses the closing meeting of the first session of the 12th National People's Congress (NPC).

NPC deputies adopted the government work report, the 2013 plan for national economic and social development, the country's 2013 budget, the work report of the 11th NPC Standing Committee, the work report of the Supreme People's Court and the work report of the Supreme People's Procuratorate at the meeting.  

The newly-elected Chinese Premier Li Keqiang hosted a press conference at the Great Hall of the People after the conclusion of the NPC annual session. [More about the press conference]
