The China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) was officially launched on Sept. 29, 2013.

On Sept. 27, China unveiled the blueprint for the FTZ with a detailed list of reform tasks, easing restrictions on the yuan, investment and trade to spearhead the nation's future reforms. Its creation is the latest major initiative of the Chinese government in adapting to global economic development trends and furthering its opening up to the outside world. [file photo]
