BEIJING, May 9 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.30 percent to 3,342 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.69 percent lower at 10,126.83 points.
The combined turnover of these two indices stood at about 1.19 trillion yuan (roughly 165 billion U.S. dollars), down from 1.29 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares related to apparels and textiles led the gains, while those in the aircraft manufacturing sector were among the biggest losers.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.87 percent to close at 2,011.77 points Friday. Enditem
