HANGZHOU, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) -- The Panama-flagged "ro-ro" (roll-on/roll-off) ship, "Forest Glory," set sail on Monday from Wenzhou Port in east China's Zhejiang Province, carrying 400 Chinese-brand new energy vehicles (NEVs) to Dubai.

This voyage marks the official launch of a new maritime route from Wenzhou to the Middle East and is the first dedicated "ro-ro" NEV transport route from Wenzhou Port.

The ship will make a stopover in Guangzhou, south China's Guangdong Province, before heading to Dubai, with a total voyage duration of approximately 23 days.

The opening of this new route will further expand Wenzhou Port's capacity, enhance its foreign trade route network, and facilitate the export of domestically produced NEVs.

China's NEV export market is expanding rapidly, with exports reaching 1.06 million units in the first half of 2025, marking a 75.2 percent year-on-year surge, according to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.

Over the past decade, Chinese NEVs have been exported to more than 70 countries and regions. Enditem
