SHENZHEN, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- World record holder Pan Zhanle won the men's 100-meter freestyle at the 15th National Games on Friday night.
Pan clocked 48.01 seconds for the victory, completing a sweep of major titles in the event across the Olympic Games, Asian Games, World Championships, World Cup, and the National Games. Liu Wudi of Fujian took silver, while Wang Haoyu of Henan and Zhao Jiayue of Jiangsu tied for bronze.
"Your performance reflects your training," Pan said. "At the National Games, I've experienced winning and losing, and felt the nerves and excitement. This result is just average. After the race, I need to review video, data and my psychological state with my team."
Wang Shun of Zhejiang won the men's 200m individual medley in 1:56.20, claiming his 18th career National Games gold medal. Guangdong's Tao Guannan and Shanghai's Chen Nuo finished second and third.
"This competition means a lot to me," Wang said. "I've competed against athletes born in the 80s, 90s, 00s, and even some 10s athletes. Being able to keep enjoying the sport in the pool makes me very content. I'm still chasing my limits."
Chen Luying of Fujian won the women's 200m butterfly in 2:05.45, with Hebei's Yu Zidi second and Jiangsu's Zhang Yufei third.
Wang Letian of Jiangxi won the women's 50m backstroke in 27.38 seconds, while Hebei triumphed in the women's 4x200m freestyle relay in 7:45.98. Zhejiang and Guangdong took silver and bronze. Enditem
