Macron arrives in Chengdu to continue China visit

CHENGDU, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday evening arrived in Chengdu, southwest China's Sichuan Province, to continue his three-day state visit to China.

It is Macron's fourth state visit to China and a reciprocal visit to Chinese President Xi Jinping's historic state visit to France last year that marked the 60th anniversary of China-France diplomatic relations.

The visit also took Macron to Beijing, where President Xi held talks with the French president and the two heads of state jointly witnessed the signing of multiple cooperation documents, met the press and attended and addressed the closing ceremony of the seventh meeting of China-France Business Council.
