BEIJING, March 9 (Xinhua) -- China's courts had concluded 9,326 cases for crimes endangering cyber security over the past five years, an increase of 158.5 percent from the previous five-year period, convicting 22,000 people, said a work report of the Supreme People's Court.
In 2025, a total of 25,000 cases for crimes assisting cyber criminal activities were concluded, down 62 percent year on year, with 38,000 people penalized, according to the report submitted Monday to the national legislature's annual session for deliberation.
According to a work report of the Supreme People's Procuratorate also submitted Monday, last year, China's procuratorates cracked down on cases involving cyber violence, online rumors, online extortion and internet trolling in accordance with the law, with 182,000 people prosecuted for committing these crimes via the internet.
