BEIJING, March 21 (Xinhua) -- The third round of the 2026 Chinese Super League concluded Saturday with a dramatic 3-3 draw between Chongqing Tonglianglong and Chengdu Rongcheng in a key clash in the title race.

Trailing Chengdu by two points in the standings, Chongqing hoped to leapfrog its rival and move to the top. However, late drama denied the host all three points.

The deadlock was broken in the 27th minute when Chongqing defender Ruan Qilong fouled Wellington Silva from behind in the penalty area. Wei Shihao converted the spot kick to give Chengdu the lead.

Silva doubled the advantage in the 40th minute with a powerful long-range strike from outside the box.

Chongqing increased the pressure after Silva was substituted in the 66th minute. Eight minutes later, Romanian forward George Cimpanu dribbled into the area and curled a shot into the top-left corner, leaving goalkeeper Liu Dianzuo rooted.

The comeback continued in the 81st minute when Belgian striker Landry Dimata controlled a long pass and slotted home to make it 2-2. Five minutes later, Wu Yuxi cut inside from the left and delivered a low cross that Dimata turned in to put Chongqing 3-2 ahead.

But the hosts' joy was short-lived. Chengdu forward Behram headed home from a corner in the fifth minute of stoppage time to salvage a 3-3 draw.

To make matters worse for Chongqing, Yunnan Yukun thrashed Shandong Taishan 4-0 at home, pushing Chongqing down to third in the standings.

Yunnan defender Caio Vinicius opened the scoring with a header in the second minute. Oscar doubled the lead in the 28th with a close-range finish before adding a second with a header from a teammate's cross to make it 3-0.

In the 83rd minute, Shandong's Xie Wenneng was sent off after clashing with the opposing goalkeeper. Five minutes later, Yunnan's Alexandru Ionita sealed the emphatic win with a counterattacking finish from a tight angle.

Elsewhere, Beijing Guoan drew 1-1 at home with Shanghai Shenhua, while Zhejiang beat Qingdao Hainiu 4-1 away. Enditem
