BEIJING, June 11 (Xinhua) -- With regard to the Iran situation, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson on Thursday said relevant parties should immediately stop military actions and resume dialogue and negotiations.
Spokesperson Lin Jian said that military confrontation will only exacerbate the situation, and military means cannot solve the fundamental problems.
Noting China is deeply concerned over the current situation, Lin said the sovereignty, security and territorial integrity of countries in the region should be respected and upheld. He urged the parties concerned to respond to relevant countries' mediation efforts so that a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire could be realized as soon as possible. Enditem
