Senior political advisors meet to discuss China's high-quality development

BEIJING, June 23 (Xinhua) -- The Standing Committee of the 14th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee opened its 17th session on Tuesday under the theme of pursuing high-quality development.

Wang Huning, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, presided over the meeting.

Noting that the promotion of high-quality development is the main focus in economic and social development in the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030), Wang called on members of the standing committee to contribute their insightful views and suggestions in support of high-quality development, so as to advance Chinese modernization.

Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang, who is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, was invited to attend the meeting and deliver a report.

Ding stressed the importance of giving top priority to development and unswervingly promoting high-quality development on the new journey.
