DALIAN, June 24 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Li Qiang on Wednesday attended a symposium for international business representatives at the 17th Annual Meeting of the New Champions, also known as the Summer Davos, in the city of Dalian, northeast China's Liaoning Province.
About 150 business representatives from more than 30 countries and regions attended the symposium.
After hearing remarks from representatives, Li noted that openness and cooperation are an irreversible trend of the times and an inherent need for countries to expand development.
No matter how the external environment changes, China will continue to follow the historical trend of openness and cooperation, deeply participate in international trade and investment, and promote the interconnectivity and integration of the Chinese market with the international market, Li said.
China has been sharing its domestic market with the rest of the world, and is willing to import more quality products from all countries and to promote balanced trade development, he stated.
China's industrial competitiveness is not propped up by subsidies, but stems from the comprehensive advantages formed by its complete industrial system, super-large market and sound innovation ecosystem, as well as the long-term and unremitting efforts of enterprises, Li said, adding that the country's industrial subsidies strictly comply with WTO rules.
Li said that upgrading of the Chinese market, manufacturing and infrastructure will create more incremental space, a more efficient industrial ecosystem and better overall conditions, offering numerous investment opportunities.
The Chinese government will do its utmost to provide quality services for global enterprises, expand the opening up of the service sector, and fully grant national treatment to foreign-invested enterprises, Li said.
Business representatives noted at the symposium that amid global economic uncertainties, China is a trustworthy and long-term partner with remarkable achievements in green transition, technological innovation and other fields.
They expressed optimism about China's development prospects and their commitment to expanding investment in China and sharing the opportunities of the country's high-quality development. Enditem
