China unveils rifle, pistol roster for 2026 Asian Games

BEIJING, June 25 (Xinhua) -- China on Wednesday unveiled its rifle and pistol shooting squad for the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, headlined by five Olympic champions.

Spearheaded by Sheng Lihao, Zhang Changhong, Liu Yukun, Jiang Ranxin and Xie Yu, the team features a well-balanced lineup of veterans and promising young talents. Rising star Wang Zifei, who has performed well on the World Cup circuit, will team up with double Olympic gold medalist Sheng in the mixed air rifle team event, with both athletes set to compete in three events at the upcoming Asiad.

The rifle and pistol events of the 2026 Asian Games will be staged from September 28 to October 1.

Prior to the Asiad, Chinese shooters will compete at the ISSF World Cup in Hangzhou from July 20 to 29 on home soil.
