JINAN, June 27 (Xinhua) -- One person was killed and six others injured after a component atop a memorial archway fell off in Qufu City of east China's Shandong Province on Saturday, according to local authorities.
The incident occurred at around 11:47 a.m. in Nanxinnan Village, Nishan Township, said the township government. Seven people were rushed to hospital, where one later died despite rescue efforts.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident, while follow-up work is underway. Enditem
