BEIJING, June 28 (Xinhua) -- The 2026 Chinese Super League resumed after the World Cup break with late goals and high-scoring wins that reshaped the league table.
Chengdu Rongcheng claimed a crucial 3-2 away win over Shenzhen Peng City, with Wei Shihao scoring a stoppage-time winner to complete his brace, keeping his side on top on 40 points and 13 points clear of second-placed Chongqing Tonglianglong.
Chengdu took a 2-0 lead through Wei's early penalty and He Yiran's deflected goal. Shenzhen fought back to level at 2-2 through Deabeas Owusu-Sekyere and former Chengdu midfielder Zhou Dingyang. A late red card to Xuan Zhijian left Shenzhen with 10 men before Wei's 98th-minute finish sealed the victory.
Shandong Taishan ended its three-game winless run with a 5-1 away victory over Liaoning Iron Man, snapping its opponent's three-match winning streak. Zeca, Valeri Qazaishvili and Guilherme Madruga scored all five goals, while Liaoning's only reply was a long-range consolation strike. The win lifted Shandong to fourth place on 21 points, reviving its title hopes.
