ULAN BATOR, July 20 (Xinhua) -- Mongolia's foreign trade turnover increased by 36.3 percent year-on-year to 16.5 billion U.S. dollars in the first half of 2026, according to data released by the National Statistics Office (NSO) on Monday.
During the January-June period, the country posted a trade surplus of approximately 4.3 billion U.S. dollars, the NSO said.
The strong growth was largely driven by a surge in mining exports, which accounted for nearly 90 percent of Mongolia's total exports during the six-month period.
Mongolia traded with 150 economies worldwide in the first half of the year.
Among the countries, China remained the country's largest trading partner, accounting for 94.1 percent of Mongolia's exports and 39.7 percent of its imports, according to the NSO. Enditem
