Senior CPC official urges Party schools to break new ground in their work

BEIJING, July 22 (Xinhua) -- Senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official Cai Qi has called on Party schools across the country to continuously break new ground in Party school work in the new era.

Cai, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and president of the Party School of the CPC Central Committee (National Academy of Governance), made the remarks on Wednesday at a meeting with heads of Party schools nationwide in Beijing.

Cai called on Party schools to contribute their wisdom and strength to advancing the full and rigorous Party self-governance on a sustained basis, building a contingent of high-caliber officials who are loyal, upright and responsible, and ensuring the steady and sustained progress of Chinese modernization.

He stressed the need to improve teaching and research capabilities with a focus on the mission of nurturing talent and offering policy advice for the Party.

He also called for training programs to focus on major priorities such as high-quality development, social governance and the coordination between development and security, with the aim of enhancing officials' capacity to perform their duties. Enditem
