XI'AN, China, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- Chinese wrestlers won five Greco-Roman wrestling gold medals at the 2026 China-Central Asia Elite Wrestling tournament here on Friday, with over 200 wrestlers from 10 countries and regions competing in the three-day tournament.

The five golds came from Hu Yunlong in 60kg, Yan Mingqiang in 67kg, Ayidingbieke Talimubieke in 87kg, Hao Houzhi in 97kg and Jiang Wenhao in 130kg. The gold medal of 77kg category went to South Korean wrestler Noh Yeong-hun.

The 22-year-old Hu beat South Korean Kim Da-hyun 9-0 in the final. "I am good at using the first par-terre chance. If my rival gave me the chance, I probably could end the opponent," Hu told Xinhua.

In men's 87kg final, when facing his compatriot Yu Jixin, Talimubieke took a 5-0 lead before the break.

Although Yu tried to narrow the gap in the second half, Talimubieke executed a solid defence tactic and saw off Yu 7-1.

"We are trained on the same team and I knew Yu's advantages very well. Winning the gold medal is within my expectation," said Talimubieke.

The tournament concludes on Sunday. Enditem
