HOHHOT, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- China celebrated its fourth National Ecology Day on Saturday, with the main ceremony taking place in Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
During the ceremony, the National Development and Reform Commission, China's top economic planner, explained policies on the country's circular economy.
Officials from other state organs, including the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, interpreted legal documents related to ecological civilization and highlighted progress in advancing the Beautiful China initiative.
Delegates from international organizations also attended the ceremony, where they shared views on the global significance of a green development philosophy.
This year's National Ecology Day is themed "Building a green foundation for Chinese modernization."
China's Ecological and Environmental Code officially came into force on Saturday, marking a milestone in efforts to strengthen the legal foundation for harmony between humanity and nature. Enditem
