BEIJING, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- China will work with Indonesia to advance cooperation in defense and military development from a strategic perspective, a defense spokesperson said Thursday.
Zhang Xiaogang, a spokesperson for China's Ministry of National Defense, said at a press conference that the two sides will promote regular and institutionalized practical cooperation on defense equipment and technology, joint exercises and training, personnel training, and maritime security.
This will provide solid security safeguards for their respective development, play a key role in regional stability, and inject more stability, certainty, and constructive factors into a world marked by transformation and disruption, Zhang said.
According to him, defense cooperation between China and Indonesia has improved in both quality and efficiency in recent years, setting an example for new-type defense cooperation among the Global South and major developing countries. Enditem
