CSL Roundup: Chengdu's title party on hold after goalless draw with Henan

BEIJING, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- Chengdu Rongcheng was held to a 0-0 draw by Henan on Sunday, missing the chance to clinch its first Chinese Super League title with four rounds to spare.

Visitor Chengdu needed a win to seal the crown but failed to register a single shot on target against Henan.

Chengdu goalkeeper Liu Dianzuo made several crucial saves, while Henan dominated possession and created chances without finding the net.

After the match, Chengdu remained top with 52 points, 12 ahead of second-placed Dalian Yingbo.

With four games remaining, Dalian can collect a maximum of 52 points even if it wins all of its remaining matches, meaning Chengdu needs just one more point to clinch the title.

Shanghai Shenhua beat Chongqing Tonglianglong 3-1, with Gao Tianyi scoring once and setting up another.

Luis Asue opened the scoring in the first half and substitute Yang Haoyu added a header, while Chongqing pulled one back in stoppage time through Michael Ngadeu-Ngadjui's bicycle kick.

Yunnan Yukun thrashed Liaoning Tieren 5-0 at home. Cleber scored a hat-trick, league top scorer Oscar had a goal and two assists, and Bunyamin Abdusalam also found the net.
