Chinese hospital, U.S. foundation extend medical cooperation for 5 years

BEIJING, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- A leading Chinese hospital and a U.S. medical foundation have renewed their cooperation for five more years, furthering bilateral collaboration in medical training, education and research.

Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH) in Beijing and the China Medical Board (CMB) Foundation from the United States inked their third five-year memorandum of understanding on Thursday in Beijing.

The agreement was renewed on the sidelines of the opening of a China-U.S. medical exchange conference and an academic week marking the 105th anniversary of PUMCH's founding.

PUMCH and the CMB Foundation signed their first such cooperation memorandum in 2016.

Founded by the Rockefeller Foundation in 1921, PUMCH is a prestigious hospital in China known for its full range of disciplines, cutting-edge technologies and outstanding specialties.

The CMB Foundation was founded in 1914 as a program of the Rockefeller Foundation, with initial commitment to establish and operate the Peking Union Medical College. It is now an independent American foundation. Enditem
