14 dead in E China traffic accident

At least 14 people were killed after a bus veered off a road and hit a mountain rock on Wednesday morning in east China's Jiangxi Province.

The minibus with 17 people aboard ran off national highway 319 and then bumped into nearby mountain rock at around 9:50 AM in Taihe County, the county government said.

Nine were killed on the spot. Five died in hospital. The dead included at least two children.

The three injured were still receiving emergency treatment.

The cause of the accident was being investigated.
