The organizer of the 2009 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum and Exhibition ( MIECF) Tuesday announced that it has by far received enrollment confirmation from 65 entities, and collected over 400 environmental projects for business matching.

Hosted by the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) government and coordinated by the SAR's Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and the Environment Council, the MIECF will be held from April 2 to 4 this year. The activities of 2009 MIECF include Green Forum, Green Matching and Green Showcase.

With the support from government departments, enterprises and academic entities of Macao, the Chinese mainland and overseas, 65 entities have registered in the Exhibition, and IPIM has currently collected over 400 environmental projects covering the fields of renewable energy, air purifying technology and sewage treatment, according to the press release from the IPIM.

Meanwhile, almost 200 specialists from environmental industry have confirmed to attend the 2009 MIECF, the IPIM said, adding that they are from various governmental departments, enterprises, academic organizations, official supporting organizations, environmental protection entities, chambers of commerce from Hong Kong, as well as consulates of many countries in Hong Kong and Macao.

The three-day event will emphasize on improving the development of global environmental industry and will also provide opportunities for enterprises to exchange experience with each other in this field, and businesses will also be created despite the difficult situation generated from the global "financial tsunami", the IPIM said.
