Construction workers joined the two halves of the Yuzui Yangtze Bridge in southwestern China's Chongqing Municipality on Sunday, Xinhua News Agency reports.

With 12 lanes, the new bridge can carry traffic at more than 60 mph and will be open in 2009, the report said.
