Results of a contest finding the most beautiful wetland in China were released in Beijing, on Dec. 22, 2011.

Five wetlands including the Yellow River Delta National Nature Reserve, in the northeast of Dongying City, Shandong Province, were judged as the most beautiful in China.

Co-organized by Wetland International, People's Daily and China Economic Weekly Magazine, the Yellow River Delta National Nature Reserve and other organizations, the activity is part of a campaign to raise the awareness of wetlands protection in China.

Facing the Bohai Sea to the North and bordering Laizhou Bay on the East, the Yellow River Delta National Nature Reserve was set up in 1992 to protect the largest wetland ecosystem in northern China.
