Dongying selected as China's intellectual property model city

Dongying has been recently selected as one of 23 China's intellectual property model cities by the State Intellectual Property Office.

Dongying is among the first cities to set up an assistance center for safeguarding legal rights and interests of intellectual property.

Highly-disputed cases involving intellectual property have been handled in Dongying to retrieve the enterprises' economic loss of 3.74 billion yuan (US$ 592.79 million). Special subsidies for patent application have been set up by the municipal government to support the enterprise innovation.

Until now, the number of patent applications in the city has reached 22,943, while 14,387 patents have been authorized. The amount of patent applications and authorized patents are both ranked first in the province.
