Myanmar to take part in 3rd Asian Beach Games in Shandong

Myanmar athletes will take part in the third Asian Beach Games in Haiyang of Shandong province in China, next month, Xinhua reported.

With its opening ceremony to kick off on June 16, the games will run from June 16 to 22 and features 49 events for 13 sports, including beach soccer, cliff climbing, windsurfing, powered paragliding, beach volleyball and beach basketball.

12 Myanmar athletes will compete in the beach Sepak Takraw event and 32 Myanmar competitors will vie for dragon boat racing.

Myanmar grabbed two silver medals in sepak takraw event in 1st Asian Beach Games, a biennial competition held in 2008 in Bali, Indonesia, followed by the second in Muscat, Oman.
