10th Sun Tzu cultural tourism festival kicks off in Shandong
The fourth Cross-Straits Sun Tzu Culture Forum is held September 13 in in Huimin, Binzhou city, Shandong province, the hometown of Sun Tzu, an outstanding ancient Chinese military strategist and philosopher from the late Spring and Autumn period (770-476 B.C.).

The 10th Sun Tzu Cultural Tourism Festival kicked off on September 12, 2012, in Huimin, Binzhou city, Shandong province, the hometown of Sun Tzu, an outstanding ancient Chinese military strategist and philosopher from the late Spring and Autumn period (770-476 B.C.).

More than 1,000 descendants and scholars of Sun Tzu from the Chinese mainland and Taiwan participated in a grand ceremony to worship Sun Tzu, known as the author of the Art of War, the world's oldest and most influential book on military strategy.

The festival lasts until Oct 22. Beside the worship ceremony, it also includes the fourth Cross-Straits Sun Tzu Culture Forum and the third Cross-Straits Student Debate Contest on the Art of War.
