Mr. Zeng just said that all high-risk groups in need should be vaccinated. Is it necessary to vaccinate the whole nation now? Is there such a plan or any specific timetable to do so? Thank you.

Zeng Yixin:

Thank you for your question. One thing is very clear: the vaccine should be provided as a public good. China has done a good job controlling the COVID-19 epidemic with the wise leadership of the CPC Central Committee and the joint endeavors of all sectors of society, but this does not mean that we can rest easy. Judging from the situation in recent days, the need to guard against imported cases whether via people or goods is still very severe. One special facet of infectious diseases is their ability to travel. Today we live in an interconnected "global village," which requires us to try every means to provide immunity to as many people as possible. Only by doing this can we finally gain control over the epidemic. From this perspective, inoculation in China not only protects the Chinese people but also contributes to global pandemic prevention and control. Therefore, we will increase vaccine promotion and inoculation in accordance with the approval status of the vaccine and production and supply capabilities. Thank you.
