News from the front line
Adjust font size:

I cannot be sure for now. But the victim seems alive, and all OXRB and drip has been given.

Oh, it has collapsed again.

One solider is buried.

Hold one second, I am going to look at the front.

I come back, the rescue is successful!

Latest news: 100,000 residents' lives are in danger in Pengzhou!!

Because of heavy rain, engineers have failed to shore up a bridge. The worse thing is it seems a landslide will occur. The phone is connecting Premier Wen directly, and the situation is very bad!

Due to the damaged bridge, 100,000 Pengzhou residents are trapped on mountain. On one hand, relief staff and supplies cannot get in to the stricken place, on the other hand, the risk of a landslip is there.

Premier Wen shouts at the phone: I do not care what kind trouble you face, what I want is these 100,000 residents alive, and this is order! And then he throws away the telephone.

This is the first time I saw Premier Wen losing his temper.

There is no clearance to go into Wenchuan, so I guess the situation is not positive.

Now I am in a communication tent.

The latest news from Wenchuan is that rain is not so heavy and supplies have been dropped down. Moreover, parachutists are boarding in the nearby airports.

All foreign journalists are focusing on the military special force which is supposed to be the most elite in China. This is their first appearance in public.

Premier Wen is now talking to the leader of military who are boarding.

"All I want to say is, these are the people who feed you and keep you. Do what you can!" Premier Wen said.

This is the first time I have been on a military helicopter and I feel nervous!

I am in military helicopter, and will arrive at Shifang in an hour.

Latest news: there is no communication with three counties in Wenchuan, Yingxiu, Xuankou and Wolong due to the weak communication signal. There are about 20,000 people trapped in those three counties. Aftershocks and rain are still continuing and making the situation worse. The exact condition cannot be judged due to the bad visibility. Chief of General Staff ordered, if conditions are bad when parachutists arrive over Wenchuan, forced order to jump! The helicopter is going into a no-signal zone, so I got to switch off my laptop. I will report news later.
