China Telecom, China Mobile, and China Unicom all launched emergency cable reconstruction work following the earthquake.

At the earthquake emergency response headquarters in Beichuan, telephones are set up to support the disaster relief work. Near the rescue stations are free telephones for soldiers, or people who escaped the disaster to let their families know they are okay.

One rescue soldier said "I'm good and you take care of your health. I'm safe now."

Wang Jianyu, China Mobile CEO said "Now we are in the earthquake resistance and disaster relief headquarter of Beichuan. We have established three temporary telephone servers here."

China Mobile has also donated 40 mobile phones with a total fee of 200 thousand RMB. China Mobile is busy transporting equipment to Wenchuan and plans to deploy helicopters carrying temporary telephone servers to Wenchuan.

Wang Jianyu said "Temporary telephone servers, satellite receivers and diesel generators are to transported to the epicenter by air. We can set up an emergency communication system as soon as possible."

A China Telecom team has been repairing communication cables within several kilometers of Wenchuan. If anything goes smoothly, the cables connecting Wenchuan will be restored soon.
