Emergency supplies are being delivered to Shifang over the Chengmian Highway, a 60 kilometer journey from Chengdu. Road conditions are still bad, but many taxis filled with relief goods are heading to Shifang anyway. Some of the drivers have already navigated the round-trip route on this road four times.

Getting into Shifang city, conditions are intense. This man lost two children and his house, but still he insists that rescue crews pass clothing and supplies on to others who need it more urgently.

At this rescue site nearby a laboratory, a six-story building has collapsed into a two-story pile of rubble. The rescue crew is composed of rescuers from around China. In the end, their joint effort saved one person from the rubble, who was immediately sent to the hospital via an ambulance that had been waiting for hours.

Miracles are still happening every minute in Sichuan, even though more than 100 hours has passed since the quake. But still, the situation remains difficult, with thirty thousand people still out of touch in remote mountain areas.
