The quake has ripped apart many small families, but survivors are acting like one big family after experiencing the devastating quake.

It's hard to believe this is the epicenter of a 8.0-magnitude earthquake.

Tian Xiaodan, deputy-head Aba Tibetan-Qiang Autonomous prefecture, said, "Sichuan Province is in an earthquake zone, so buildings in Aba are all constructed to survive an earthquake up to grade-8. "

These buildings look fine on the surface, but they were badly damaged inside. Still, these quake-resistant buildings saved tens of thousands of people's lives.

This tent now home to 50 people. These two girls ran a hot-pot restaurant before, and now they're sharing their leftover supplies with others, and taking in several homeless people and migrant workers.

Xu Jiafeng, Hot-pot restaurant owner, said, "At least we still have something to eat. They are homeless people and migrant workers. It's our responsibility to take care of them."

Now, some of the migrant workers are going back to their hometowns. It's hard for them to say goodbye to their new family.

This woman is seven months pregnant, so people are giving her special attention.

Yang Maochao, Pregnant woman, said, "They told the children not to waste anything, and saved all the fruits and food for me."

People are also paying more attention to this special family, from America. The father is a teacher at the Aba Normal Institute.

With the help of the local government, the Chards are being sent to Chengdu. Before they leave, though, the family wants to leave behind their clothing for local residents.

In order to thank these PLA soldiers, some people from neighboring counties walked 2 or 3 hours to Wenchuan, bringing fruits and vegetables to the soldiers.
