The kids have become the main focus as the medical team returns to Beijing.

They came from Beichuan county. Their homes were destroyed by the quake. This one with the teary eyes couldn't get in touch with her mother until yesterday.

A medical member said, "Before we boarded the plane, we still couldn't get any news of her mother. And her father was injured. She missed her mom and cried everyday. So we decided to take her to Beijing to calm her down. Yesterday her father finally called to tell us her mother has been found alive."

The kids were sent on to a hospital, where they received a warm welcome.

The medical workers say they met these kids during their rescue work and decided to take them to Beijing for psychological counseling. They say these kids witnessed a great tragedy and are suffering from the losses of friends and relatives.

Their nurses have been divided into three groups. They make delicious food and decorate their sleeping quarters, doing their best to make them feel at home.

A nurse said, "They need our care. Many other kids in the disaster areas also need our help and support."

A kid said, "Slowly I come to know these nurses and feel not so sad as before."

The comfort offered by their nurses also makes them smile again.

Doctors hope the week of counseling ahead will help these young survivors rebuild their confidence in life.
