Homeless people taken into care
Adjust font size:

In the quake-struck regions, tens of thousands of displaced residents are staying in temporary shelters. Jiuzhou Stadium in the city of Mianyang is one of these such havens.

Playing on the swings, on the bars, with plasticine and even punching the sandbag. If not for the makeshift bedding on the floor, you would hardly tell this is the largest temporary shelter in Sichuan, home to nearly 10,000 people left homeless by the quake.

But there is always a problem to look out for. This nanny was crying loudly, even her son looked bewildered. Just shortly after, a policeman and a couple of volunteers came to help.

After trying for a quarter of an hour, it was decided that it was too difficult to calm her down completely, and more help was needed. And soon, local doctors arrived along with a psychological expert from Beijing. She will be sent to the best hospital in town and receive professional medical attention.
