The Chinese community in Thailand have donated 2,000 tents to quake-stricken areas in Sichuan. The goods will be transported to Chongqing municipality. Various departments are coordinating efforts to ensure the tents will be given to the survivors as soon as possible.

Just a few minutes after the plane landed, people began unloading the cargo of 2,000 tents, that were donated by the Chinese community in Thailand.

To streamline the transport process to the quake survivors, airport and customs staff have been coordinating efforts. Customs officials are allowing the tents to be transported first... and then Civil Administration officials will check the goods later.

Liu Tao from Civil Affairs Bureau of Chongqing Municipality said, "Under the instruction of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, we organized vehicles to transport the tents immediately to the quake hit area in Sichuan."

So far, the airport has transported over 100 tons of relief materials and over 20,000 staff people to earthquake areas in Sichuan.

Overseas Chinese in Thailand say it took them about 6 days to prepare the relief goods.

Vice president of Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, said, "When we realized how serious the quake was,we were heartbroken. And we decided to help the people in Sichuan with their reconstruction."

The vice president says Chinese compatriots in Thailand care a lot about the people in Sichuan. And they hope they will be able to return to their normal life soon.
