Officials plan to re-open tourist destinations gradually. All tour groups have have been suspended. The plan is to designate the areas, routes, destinations and hotels that are safe for tourists.

The earthquake has caused at least 70-billion yuan or about 10-billion US dollars in tourism losses. That amounts to more than half of last year's total tourism revenue.
