A multinational team of Red Cross workers mobilized by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is providing safe drinking water and sanitation facilities to the residents of Jiulong Town, Mianyang City, Sichuan Province, and surrounding villages. China.org.cn photographed the Red Cross workers as they established their base camp and began delivering services to the community. Juilong was virtually levelled in the May 12 earthquake and 400 of its residents were killed.

A Spanish water quality engineer and an official from the sanitation department agree water quality standards.

Zahra Ali from Britain said "The local volunteers are amazing. Everyone you see wants to do something even if there's not enough stuff to do. They're really open to us and really happy that we're here".
